Press release from: MindMeister

Munich, September 02, 2013: MindMeister today announced the integration of their award-winning mind mapping application with Google+ Hangouts, Google’s hugely popular video conferencing solution. Users of Google+ Hangouts will now be able to simultaneously mind map while video chatting with up to 9 other people.

“We’ve had a long and prosperous partnership with Google, integrating MindMeister with Google Apps, Google Drive, and even the rather unlucky Google Wave, so we’re especially excited to announce this new integration,” says MindMeister’s Managing Director, Till Vollmer. “MindMeister in Google+ Hangouts is a match made in brainstorming heaven.”

To use MindMeister in Google+ Hangouts, users must be signed into their Google+ page and have their account linked with their MindMeister account. Once a Hangout is started and all participants are invited the MindMeister app can be added.

The mind mapping Hangout has a mind map as the main screen view for everyone, with video thumbnails for each person underneath. The map is automatically shared with all participants and changes are saved in real-time. “The range of possible usages is enormous”, Mr Vollmer says. “From conducting meetings and online presentations to teaching and tutoring, everything can be set up in a matter of seconds.”

MindMeister is one of only a handful of apps that are integrated with Google+ Hangouts.

About MindMeister

MindMeister is a market innovator for providing collaborative online mind mapping solutions. Launched in May 2007, the site has since attracted hundreds of thousands of businesses, academic institutions and creative consumers who have mapped over 100 million ideas online. In brainstorming mode, fellow MindMeisters from around the world (or just in different rooms) can simultaneously work on the same mind map - and see each other's changes in live time. Using integrated Skype calls, they can throw around new ideas and put them down on "paper" at the same time. Maps can be imported from and exported to standard desktop mind mapping applications such as MindManager and FreeMind, or even as a document outline or image file. Community features such as tagging and change notifications (also via Twitter) make MindMeister all the more useful for global collaboration.
MindMeister runs in a web browser, no plugins or additional software required.

About Google+ Hangouts

Hangouts let users connect and communicate with colleagues in multi-user video rooms. Users might use Hangouts to hold a business meeting, discuss a particular "hot topic" or pressing issue, or just have a multi-user video chat.
Hangouts let users share their computer screen. They can choose to share any open window on their computer or share Google Drive files and collaborate to write meeting notes or draw on a shared whiteboard.
In addition, Google+ Hangouts are integrated with Google Calendar. Users can add hangouts to their calendar events and join hangouts directly from the calendar event or event reminder.
The option “Hangouts On Air” lets users broadcast their hangout, making them a great option for large presentations, demonstrations, or lectures. After the hangout and live broadcast, the recording of the meeting can be edited and shared on YouTube.
The new Google+ Hangouts also allow users to unify chats, audio calls, and video meetings across all of their devices.
