NeoBird Press Release: NeoBird sponsors 'researching games' BarCamp

NeoBird, the Frankonian multiplayer experts, are sponsoring 'researching games' – the annual meeting of German game researchers.

Nuremberg, 12th August 2013:
The cross-platform game development studio NeoBird ( www.neobird.de ) today announces its sponsorship for 'researching games' ( researchinggames.net ), the annual meeting of German game researchers.
The interdisciplinary event is organized as a barcamp and takes place on the 28th and 29th of September in Wiesbaden / Germany.

The annual meeting of 'researching games' connects international game researchers who explore, analyse and challenge interactive games. The event is focusing on a scientific approach and is open to everyone. Therefore researching games stays refreshingly free from trumpeting self-portrayal and the bulletpoint-canonades common to typical industry gatherings.“ We are convinced by researching games' concept, because it reflects our everyday development process far better than lectures about how shortening the name of your app enhances traffic“, comments Florian Brich, Director Business Development at the NeoBird GmbH & Co. KG.

„We welcome NeoBird as a sponsor, especially as they understand and value our approach“ says Florian Berger on behalf of the 'researching games' team. „When the German game development community becomes more interested in fundamental research, both sides will profit“ continues Berger. Participants in the researching games 2013 BarCamp will discuss general topics such as flow mechanics, game environments and innovative gaming concepts. The results will be made available to the public after the event.

It is general practice among the visitors of a 'barcamp' to take home a sticker once the 'unconference' has finished. That way, the participants want to say, 'I was in on that.' The idea is not really new. For decades, travellers have collected that kind of souvenirs of their holiday destinations and stuck them to their suitcases. It's the 'barcamps' themselves that are new. They have only been organized for
