How to get free website traffic?
There are several different ways, and people automatically assume it's social media. But that's hardly the best way due to its drawbacks. For example, when a business stops posting content - the traffic takes a nosedive. But even if a business keeps posting, most of the traffic will come from the newer posts. And that is hardly a good time and effort investment. Because all existing content keeps depreciating as time goes by.
Is there a better traffic strategy?
Yes, there is - free website traffic through SEO. Because, on average, a published blog post will gain traffic with time - not lose it. Which is entirely different from the value equation that exists on social media.
With SEO content, a business is actually building its traffic foundations. And those foundations compound through time. Which is a much better approach for nearly all companies. And it is much better than watching previous content investments go down the drain.
But doesn't SEO take a long time?
That depends. But doesn't creating a social media account take long as well? Plus, after it's built - doesn't it require constant maintenance? It definitely does.
On the other hand, blog content published on a website will be just fine sitting there in peace after it was built. No need for maintenance - especially if it's evergreen content. Regardless, 6 months will pass either way, and businesses will be pleased when significant traffic starts coming.
Isn't it difficult to rank on Google?
If businesses use the same strategies everyone else uses, then yes, ranking on Google is next to impossible. But, the biggest opportunities are always found where very few people look.
Some businesses try to rank for the most obvious keywords, which is next to impossible. More sophisticated companies use keyword tools like ahrefs.com, which are very good. But as more and more people are using the same keyword tools and competing for the same keywords - ranking for those is also getting more and more difficult.
But the most significant traffic opportunity is in the keywords that even keyword tools can't find. These keywords still have a decent amount of traffic, but the competition is so low that it's extremely easy to rank for them and get traffic. And traffic leads to sales.
