Ted Wilson's Message to the World Church during the 61st General Conference Session

On Sabbath morning, June 11, 2022, President Ted Wilson delivered the sermon during the 61st General Conference Session. His message was titled "Hold Fast What You Have" and he spoke to the world church in general session as well as to a wider global audience through live streaming. Seated behind Pastor Wilson were the seven General Vice Presidents of the GC and the Presidents of the thirteen world divisions in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, who also serve as Vice Presidents of the General Conference. These leaders represented the church's top administration.

Ted Wilson spoke about the importance of clinging to our faith as the signs of the end were literally being fulfilled. He once again reiterated the need to earnestly plead for the Latter Rain. Below are the main points from Ted Wilson's message in which he encouraged the world church to:

• Refuse to accept syncretism and mystical teachings.
• Believe in the six literal consecutive days of creation.
• He expressed his belief in a young earth, around 6,000 years old.
• He emphasized Biblical marriage, one man and one woman.
• Reject anti-biblical forms of sexuality.
• Draw a line between what is sin and what is not sin.
• He thanked the delegates for affirming the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy.
• He affirmed his personal belief in Ellen White's inspiration.
• He decried the "manipulation of parliamentary procedures."
• He warned against ecumenical activity and against the increase in spiritualism.
• Ted Wilson said that ecumenism teaches us to compromise.
• He also said ecumenism distracts from the Three Angels' Message.
• The full Great Controversy must go to the world.
• Faithfulness is needed for Jesus to come.
• Apostate Protestantism would embrace spiritualism.
• Sunday laws are coming.
• Sunday is a false day of worship.
• Babylon represents a mixing of truth and error.
• He said that even though we love everyone and respect all religions, there is only one true God and one truth.
• He called on us to focus on our calling during these end-times.
• He called us to proclaim the Three Angels' Message worldwide.

All of this sounds really great, but the question is, "After 12 years in office, when will Ted Wilson and his college of vice presidents actually start implementing many of these points?" It is not enough to simply talk about these issues. What, if anything, will they do about it?

For example, if President Ted Wilson was truly concerned about the dangers of ecumenism, he should immediately fire Ganoune Diop because he is one of the chief architects of the worldwide ecumenical movement. If we are serious about spiritualism, what, if anything, will Ted Wilson and his vice presidents do about ending their diabolic partnership with Disney? Again, if we are serious about anti-biblical expressions of sexuality, why are we in partnership with modern-day Disney? End these relationships, and then our words will truly have substance and meaning.

Actions are far more powerful and effective than mere words. In fact, words are meaningless without decided actions. In Romans 16:18, we are warned that "good words" and "fair speeches" can "deceive the hearts of the simple." Unless our words are followed by concrete action, we are only making a big show of the truth and giving the impression of great sanctity and sincerity. That is why Paul affirmed that pleasant words, by themselves, deceive.

It is presumptuous to seek God's blessings while we do nothing to remove the stumbling blocks from among us. There are movements attempting to undermine the pillars of our faith, and God's prophet instructs us to "meet it firmly and without delay" (1SM 200). Do we truly believe in the writings of the Spirit of Prophecy, as voted on by the world session and expressed by Ted Wilson in his sermon? If so, "Meet it." This means we must confront these dangerous threats in the church head on. The time for talking is over.
