SEPA in eCommerce

New Service: Bank biw AG facilitates mandate management

Willich, 02.07.2013 - SEPA migration is the most important topic at eCommerce conferences.
Especially the solutions still allowing a trouble free migration to companies being almost too late are of high demand. SEPA-solution, developed by biw AG, further saves your companies’ resources.

Professionals who are able to clearly explain to online merchants what really to expect with the SEPA migration are currently popular speakers at eCommerce conferences. As for example Christof Roßbroich (Sales Director, XCOM AG) and his colleague Björn Jüngerkes (Director Business Development, biw AG), who granted the specialized audience at the conference “Payment 2013” and at the eCommerce conference held in Hamburg and Düsseldorf a glimpse behind the scenes of a “real” SEPA migration.

Their practical example: the bank biw Bank für Investments und Wertpapiere AG, belonging to the XCOM group. The financial institution has the same problem that most online merchants have to cope with: Its business model doesn’t not work without direct debits. Especially that is where the difficulties of the SEPA migration hide. “What the obligatory mandate management for direct debits as of February 2014 brought us was more than subject to entertainment taxation”, says Roßbroich.

“The introduction to the topic, the new definition of processes for time-lines, pre-notification and deadline monitoring as well as integration into the IT have cost a great deal of time and money”, reports the SEPA expert. His conclusion: “The effort for the high tech biw AG was inevitable. But other companies, especially small and medium sized ones, should save their resources.”

They better not rely on their principal banks. “Obviously, the majority of the financial institutes take a backseat with regard to the mandate management”, notices Björn Jüngerkes. “For this reason, biw AG, as an innovative niche supplier, developed the product SEPA-solution.

For the future, biw AG offers companies a carefree package with SEPA-solution. The intelligent combination of business account, mandate management and payment transaction also takes over the complete processes regarding SEPA direct debits. These are inter alia the mandate entry, deadline monitoring, mailing of information and processing of payment transactions. An online platform based on the established XCOM eBanking system provides a comfortable, fully electronic management of the entire SEPA payment transaction.
SEPA-solution will start as of July 2013 with online-banking and as of the 4th quarter will allow its users the migration of their systems and data to SEPA within few simple steps. With this solution it will be possible to further process files in the currently valid format (DTA). A migration of the affected existing systems to the new SEPA format (xml) can be made at a later time after the SEPA introduction.

SEPA-solution is qualified for all companies, organisations and associations looking for a simple, fast and inexpensive SEPA solution.
Bigger companies that are unable to migrate standardized to SEPA, are offered a highly flexible license solution, targeted to mass payment transactions with comparable functionalities.
