Press release from: NetModule AG

/ PR Agency: Agentur Lorenzoni GmbH, Public Relations
Bern/Niederwangen, Switzerland - April 4, 2013 – Effective immediately, NetModule is now one of the “Proven Partners” in the global Freescale Connect Program. The new status achieved by NetModule is earned by only a select group of companies, chosen to provide the important development tools, software, hardware and services for complete system solutions. The objective is to add special software and hardware application services to Freescale’s ecosystem, so users benefit from an even better service in relation to their individual complete system. As a European OEM/ODM developer at the “Proven Partner” level, NetModule is contributing its expertise in the customer-specific development and integration of communication and Internet technologies in embedded systems. The acceptance of NetModule into the exclusive Freescale Connect Program strengthens the cooperation of the two companies in the development of high-performance SBCs (single-board computers) based on Freescale processors.

“We have successfully trusted in NetModule for several years now in the co-development of software and hardware,” says Michael Rosen, Distribution Sales Manager CE at Freescale Semiconductor EME&A SA. “Therefore the step to becoming a ‘Proven Partner’ in our program is only logical.” The products created up to now include the C&V (control & visualization) modules i.MX53 and i.MX35 with high-performance multimedia support for complex user interfaces and the powerful high-speed communication module MPC 8314 for network and communication applications. Thanks to NetModule’s special SBC license models, customers can reduce development and unit costs as well as their time to market without becoming dependent on the module supplier.

As a “Proven Partner”, NetModule is provided with access to product information prior to market launch, roadmaps and the latest technologies. “This partnership opens up access for us to an even wider customer base,” says Stefan Leuenberger, Director Engineering at NetModule. “Users searching for suitable system solutions are put in contact with us directly by Freescale.” There are also opportunities to take part in regional events, such as the “Freescale Tech Day” on June 25, 2013, in Zurich, where NetModule will be giving a talk on the subject “Make or buy: full design vs. module-based solutions”.

NetModule draws on more than 20 years of experience in hardware development and FPGA programming for complex and challenging applications. Specialized expertise in the implementation of commercial and free Linux variants, VxWorks and Windows embedded on ARM and power architecture platforms also benefits the software developers. This applies also to Open Source, other real-time operating systems and development tools – from virtualization solutions, IDEs and compilers to debuggers and profilers, libraries and frameworks.
