5 steps to forward GoDaddy Business Email to Gmail Account
1: Create an account.
To begin, go into your GoDaddy account. After signing in, navigate to "My Products."
2: Email Forwarding
To begin, scroll down the page until you come to the "Additional Products" link. Select "Email Forwarding" using the blue drop-down arrow. Unless you've already used it, you should see several complimentary credits proportional to the number of domains you own. When you click the "Redeem" button, a pop-up window will appear on your screen. If you have multiple websites, click the drop-down arrow next to "Redeem Credit" and select the domain corresponding to the business email you wish to forward.
Click "Create Forward" and fill in the first field option with the business email address you wish to create. Enter the email address you wish all business emails to be forwarded in the second field option. Then, at the bottom of the pop-up screen, click the "Create" button.
3: Update Your DNS Configuration
A set of activities must be completed to forward your GoDaddy business email to Gmail Select "Server Settings" from the drop-down arrow on the "Tools" tab. There should be an error message stating "No MX records were located," indicating that your email forwarding is inoperable as-is. Navigate to your DNS settings page and add the appropriate information to resolve this.
Log into your hosting platform's control panel to visit the DNS settings page by using GoDaddy email login ( https://techsaa.com/how-to-setup-godaddy-email/ ) . If you use GoDaddy to host your website, open a new tab and navigate to your GoDaddy profile account. "My Products" will appear. Your domain address is displayed in the "Domains" section. To the right of your domain name, click the "DNS" button.
To add MX records, scroll to the "Records" section's bottom and click "Add." Type "MX" in the "Type" field. Type "@" in the "Host" column. To complete the "Points To" box, navigate another tab and copy the first line beneath the "Correct Settings" box. Paste it into the "Points To" area. Type zero in the "Priority" box and click "Save." You will then be returned to the "Records" area.
Select "Add" once more to generate a second MX record. Select "MX" for your "Type." Include a "@" in the "Host" field. To complete the "Points To" box, navigate another tab and copy the second line beneath the "Correct Settings" box. Paste it into the "Points To" box. Type "10" in the "Priority" box and click "Save."
Refresh the screen by returning to the previous tab where the MX records error message was discovered. You should receive a green light and the message "Your MX records are correct." This indicates that your email forwarding is operational! However, two additional measures will ensure that you cover all of your business email transfer bases.
(To verify, send an email to your business email address and check whether it displays in your Gmail account.)
4: Create An SMTP2GO Account
While business emails can be appropriately forwarded to your Gmail account, they cannot be sent from your professional email account. To do so, you'll need an SMTP2GO account. Visit smtp2go.com and select "Free SMTP2GO Trial." Establish a user account. After completing the registration process, you will receive your SMTP login and password.
5: Add Your SMTP Account To Gmail
Navigate to your Gmail account and select "Settings" from the gear symbol on the far righthand side of the screen. To access the "Accounts and Import" tab, click it. Click "Add Another Email Address" under the "Send Mail As" option. Complete the "Name" field with the From name you wish clients to see when responding to emails from your business. Add the company email address you created in the "Email Address" field and click "Next Step."
The following screen will request your SMTP credentials. Your SMTP2GO username and password should be copied and pasted. Return to your SMTP2GO account page and click "Finish" in the "SMTP Server" box. Copies the information adjacent to the SMTP Server and pastes it into the "SMTP Server" field. Select "25" from the "Port" drop-down menu and then click "Add Account."
A pop-up window should appear on the screen informing you that a confirmation email has been sent to your Gmail account. Copy the confirmation code from the email by clicking on it. Return to the pop-up window and paste the code into the verification box before clicking "Verify." And now we're finished!
To confirm that you redirected your GoDaddy business email to Gmail correctly, log into your Gmail account and return to your Settings. Scroll down to the "Send Mail As" option under the "Accounts and Import" tab. Your company email account should be listed.
We hope this helps you in your daily work life. Check our whole Seahawk Learn library for additional informative blogs and videos for further tips and tricks.
