Race car in action.

Halver, 18 March 2013 – ESCHA Bauelemente GmbH from Halver is sponsoring Formula-Student-Team ‘Team StarCraft‘ of the Technical University in Ilmenau this year. Within a sponsoring scope, the connectivity- and housing specialist has already provided the students with high-grade connectivity for the signal wiring of the new race car. As a Team Silverpartner, ESCHA will be represented by brand promotion on the race car.

“We are glad to receive ESCHA high-grade connectors for the signal wiring which enables us to use partially- or completely pre-manufactured cables, save a lot of time wiring the vehicle, and considerably minimize sources of error“, says Oliver Dittrich from Team StarCraft and adds: “Besides, we save weight through the connectors. While we still had to lay 100 meters of cable in the past year, the new electro-bolide will only require 30 meters.“

“Formula Student fascinatingly combines theory and practice. To this effect, we want to make a contribution and support StarCraft with our connectivity components. Surely, we are keeping our fingers crossed for the coming season“, says Florian Schnell, Public Relations Manager at ESCHA.

The Formula Student is a design competition and a corporate strategic planning simulation, in which student teams from all over the world plan, build, and put on the market own race cars. In the worldwide competitions, the teams enter as engineering companies aiming to convince a potential investor (represented by the jurors) of their technical and economical business model for an amateur-race car. More than ever before, 187 teams from 33 countries are participating in the international competition this year. From 30 July to 4 August, they will go for their laps on the Hockenheimring in self-made race cars for the eighth time.
