New Media Film Festival Announced as Film Festival of the Year by Global Awards

[LOS ANGELES, CA] – New Media Film Festival is proud to announce it has been named the Film Festival of the Year by Global Awards for 2022. Founded in 2009, this venture was initially announced in Second Life before becoming part of the C3-United Nations-Millennium Project as an annual event. It has become one of the world’s most prominent venues for emerging and established content creators and video artists.

The festival’s marketplace makes it easy for creators to connect with buyers to negotiate deals within the film industry. By removing the communication barriers that have traditionally existed, new ideas, concepts, and stories can get talked about in meaningful ways.

Each month during 2022, viewers can watch films for free that New Media Film Festival has helped to produce. The first screening is a documentary entitled “Louis Kahn’s Tiger City,” centered around the American architect’s ode to democracy in Bangladesh. It’s directed by Sundaram Tagore, stars Academy Award-winner Debra Winger, and features architects Bal Krishna Doshi, Steven Hall, Sajeeb Wajed, and Nathaniel Kahn.

In addition to the free monthly screenings, New Media Film Festival continues delivering opportunities to network through live events. That includes the annual June gala, where awards are presented in over 20 categories, with a new Faith and Family award added to the 2022 event. Attendees can expect performances, art exhibitions, question and answer sessions, and more during this red carpet event.
