U.S. Chamber Names Rapoport’s Restaurant group Southeast Regional Winner for 2013 Small Business of the Year Award

On February 15, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce named Rapoport’s Restaurant Group one of seven national finalists for the 2013 DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Award, who were selected from the top 100 Blue Ribbon Award winners. Additionally, all Blue Ribbon finalists are eligible for the Community Excellence Award, designed to highlight a business that has found success in the eyes of its community, which will be decided through online public voting until February 22. Both award winners will be honored during America’s Small Business Summit, April 29 – May 1, in Washington, D.C.

“Rapoport’s Restaurant Group is a living example of the power of free enterprise at work in our economy. Through their hard work and talents, they are enriching their community, expanding opportunities for others, and fulfilling their own dreams,” said Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber. “We salute Rapoport’s Restaurant Group for the vital contributions they make to our economy and our society.”

Known for its award-winning restaurants and sandwich shop, Rapoport’s Restaurant Group was founded in 2000 with the opening of Henry’s. President of the well-known South Florida restaurant group, Burt Rapoport, expanded the group to include, Bogart’s Bar & Grille on the Premier Level of Cinemark Palace 20 Theater, Deck 84, waterfront on Atlantic Ave. Delray Beach, E&J’s Sandwich Shop, and their latest concept Burt & Max’s, which recently opened at the Delray Marketplace on February 15. Rapoport’s Restaurant Group is an active community member, donating more than $75,000 in 2012 to local organizations including the George Snow Scholarship Fund, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Tri County Humane Society and the American Association of Caregiving Youth.
