Mariana Acuña’s Ancient Landscapes at Agora Gallery
Mariana Acuña’s oil and mixed media paintings on wood or board are an appeal to dream dimensions, playful sensibilities, divine feminine energies and the flame of consciousness. The paintings depict the ecstatic dance of body, mind and spirit, reaching out to and reflecting the consciousness of both the viewer and the wider universe. These jewel-toned ethereal landscapes harbor human and animal archetypes nestled in the fold of flowing streams of color which reflect the transcultural communicability of ancient knowledge. Although she migrated to Europe, the spirit of Acuña’s Chilean homeland remains a strong influence in her work today. Working with a variety of materials – oil, acrylic, wax, pigment and found objects – she creates works which are a spiritually elevating and communicatory channel.Mariana Acuña obtained her degree from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in 1993 and has exhibited professionally in Paris, Santiago, Trapani, Palermo and Milano. She currently lives and works in San Vigilio di Marebbe, a region of the Italian Alps.

About the Exhibition
In The Odyssey Within viewers are introduced to art that takes the power of tradition and melds it with the thrilling novelty of the present. Charming, thought-provoking and intelligent, this is art with the ability to inspire. Pathway to Abstraction explores the force and creativity that consummate skill offers when combined with a feeling of daring and innovation. Lively, lovely and full of energy, the art contains both breadth and depth in terms of both content and technique. The artists of Sensorial Realms sensitively investigate the complex layers of human thought and imagination, yet remain carefully rooted in the physical world. The result is an appealing meeting of everything that is most fascinating about human nature and experience.
