Press release from: OnCell Systems

The Festival of Faiths is an annual event that celebrates the religious diversity of our community, promotes unity, and strengthens the role of religion in society. Each year’s festival brings thousands of people from different faith traditions and cultures together to discuss issues of importance to their faith life and their daily life, and to engage in common action to promote the good of our community.

The 2012 Festival of Faiths will take place November 14-18 at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage in Louisville, Kentucky. The theme for the 2012 Festival of Faiths is Sacred Fire: Light of Compassion. This is the light that illuminates consciousness, leading the way to life, love and justice. Festival programs, including keynote addresses, panel discussions, interfaith prayer services, films, music, exhibits, youth events and more will emphasize the role of compassion in our spiritual and daily lives. Each of the programs will direct attention to the sacred fire of compassion that enriches our lives and motivates us to serve as good stewards in our congregations, in the workplace, for our environment, in our schools and throughout our neighborhoods.

The 2012 Festival of Faiths exhibits and works of art will call attention to the fascinating story of fire and its tremendous influence on our lives, as well as to compassion, which places us in loving relationship with all creation. Festival exhibitors will demonstrate through their displays how blessed we are thanks to the gifts of Sacred Fire and of Human Compassion, exercised in every setting – our house of worship, our workplace and elsewhere. Exhibits are a central part of the Festival of Faiths, as they offer a unique opportunity to explore the rich diversity of our community’s faith traditions and our shared values. Local houses of worship, civic organizations, educational and medical institutions, as well as non-profit and for-profit organizations and independent artists will be among the exhibitors featured at this year’s Festival of Faiths.

New to the festival is a guided cell phone tour of the festival’s nearly 100 exhibits and works of art. The tour is provided by OnCell, a mobile communication service provider that offers event and exhibit cell phone audio tours as well as interactive mobile tour experiences and features such as QR tours, mobile web tours, mobile giving campaigns, mobile survey programs, text messaging and smartphone applications.

“We are excited about the opportunity to use OnCell as a means to enhance the experience of our festival attendees,” said Festival of Faiths Communications Director Chris Wooton. “Additionally, we feel that the OnCell audio tour will provide more exposure for our exhibitors and artists. It’s a win-win for our festival attendees and participants.”

Wooton adds that OnCell’s customer service has been outstanding, and he hopes that the relationship with OnCell will continue for future festivals.
