Most people associate the holidays with sun, beach and the ocean. Whether Florida, Spain or the Dominican Republic – popular sand beaches all around the world attract millions of tourists every year. The wonderful view and the pure, clean air at the ocean are not only the perfect surroundings for a long walk on the beach, but especially for an enjoyable running session. That keeps the body in shape and is a nice change to the normal daily running with known courses and distances. Jogging during sunrise or sunset particularly promises unforgettable impressions. But there are some things to consider in order to enjoy the running-experience.

When, where and how?
During the holiday period, the sun is ideally shining the whole day and makes the temperatures rise highly. To avoid circulatory problems, athletic holidaymakers have to be careful when choosing the right time of day for running on the beach. The early morning is perfect since temperatures and sunshine are more comfortable for practising sports. Furthermore, the beach is not crowded with tanning tourists yet. So runners can train better, relax and enjoy the beach feeling.
Everybody who ever run or walked on the beach will be aware of the characteristics of this type of ground: The effort is higher than on asphalt or forest paths. The leg and feet musculature is strengthened, but it is a tough training. Running near the water helps reducing physical overload as the ground there is more firm than at the soft, dry sand. Since jogging at the beach is unfamiliar to the body, even ambitious runners start with shorter units. At the beginning, the 20-minutes-limit should not be passed, in order to get the muscles in feet and legs accustomed to the sandy ground. Those who are not satisfied with a shorter unit can continue running on paths near the beach or along the esplanade.
In general, the soft ground supports a running style that is gentle for the joints. Especially at the beginning, however, the unusual strain for tendons, ligaments and joints can bear some risks. On strongly-sloping beaches, straining the body in an unbalanced way for too long can cause pain and injuries. Changing the direction once in a while helps to regain the straining balance regarding both sides of the body.

Barefoot or with running shoes: Advantages and Disadvantages
Many people love the feeling of soft sand under their feet. Runners also like to go without their shoes on the beach. Besides the comfortably-massaging effect, running barefoot strengthens the feet musculature. In classic running shoes, the feet’s supporting function is minor since the shoes absorb the impact forces. Running barefoot is additional fitness training for the feet and supports a natural movement.
Nevertheless, running “bottomless” has some natural dangers. Little stones, shells or splinters of wood and glass are sometimes hiding in sandy grounds and can cause injuries. Everybody who wants to avoid this risk can also run on the beach with shoes. A compromise between average running shoes and risky barefoot-running are extra light running shoes or toe shoes.

Too much luggage? – Choose easy running equipment!
Running clothing should not be missing at travels. The right packing choices are important to save some space. Light running shorts and shirts are sufficient for summer holidays in warm regions. Those who want to run on the beach with bare feet and are not planning on taking alternative courses save the weight of running shoes. Number one jogging equipment regarding saving space and weight is the running computer JogStyle from Omron. Athletic holidaymakers who want to keep track of their individual data, such as running time, speed and distance, bring this small, handy device. It fits in every pocket und does not take any space away in the suitcase. By providing additional data like calorie consumption and fat burned, the JogStyle helps runners to control their training and to see how much more delicious food from the holiday buffet is allowed.

Work on the ideal tempo with the JogStyle
Whether beginner or professional competitor: Many runners fail at their own speed. Who starts the training to quickly, often overwhelms the own body unintentionally. The condition isn’t up to the selected speed and the result might be a rapid loss of strength and for this reason a decreasing motivation. Even marathon runners often commit the mistake of starting too fast in the race and thus consume their energy too soon.
The JogStyle by Omron motivates to move more in everyday life
"Just walk a few steps by foot" or "Take the stairs instead of the elevator." Everyone knows the little man in the ear, the repeated calls to do more exercise in everyday life. An ordinary office worker sits an average of eight hours per day at the desk and goes only around 3.000 steps. For many people it is hard to overcome their inner temptation to exercise regularly and prefer

My JogStyle gives information about different styles of running and how these impact the final performance. Basically, it can be distinguished between three different
My JogStyle recommends: „Try something new - run backwards!“
A very new experience, an unforgettable feeling, and some variation in your monotone training? Interested? Then try to run backwards! Sounds weird, but in fact it is highly effective for body and soul. My JogStyle explains, why running backwards is worthwhile and where this crazy trend sport comes from. Who thinks “RetroRunning” is a new-fangled running alternative, is completely wrong. At the beginning of the 19th century this alternative form of
