Raycap Announces Improvement in Lightning Surge Performance of its Strikesorb 40 Product Series
June 27, 2012 Post Falls, ID USA — Raycap, a global manufacturer of electrical protection solutions today announced a performance improvement for its flagship Strikesorb 40 SPD product line. The Strikesorb 40 SPD products are engineered to protect vulnerable electronic equipment against electrical damage caused by overvoltage events and lightning strikes. The Maximum Impulse Current specification that the SPDs can withstand has been increased to 12.5kA (10/350 µs) direct lightning, per the IEC 61643-1:2005 standard.“This announcement is a testament to Raycap’s continued push to innovate and ensure our solutions protect our customer’s mission critical resources,” said Zafris Politis, Director of R&D for Raycap’s Electrical Protection Division. The performance enhancement of the Strikesorb 40 product series underscores Raycap’s commitment to the continuous evolution of its products.
All products in the Strikesorb 40 product series have been successfully tested and certified as Class I surge protective devices per the IEC 61643-1:2005 standard. This makes them ideal for protecting industrial equipment exposed to the damaging effects of direct lightning currents.
