Raycap to showcase latest Surge Protective Devices at Intersolar: Hall B4, Booth 225
Munich / Germany, 15 April 2013 - Raycap, a global manufacturer of electrical protection solutions today announced it will exhibit at Intersolar Europe in Munich on June 19-21st, 2013 in Stand B4.255. The company will feature its line of award-winning Strikesorb Industrial Surge Protective Devices (SPDs), which can sustain multiple successive lightning hits and continue to provide uninterrupted surge protection without requiring maintenance or replacement – even under the worst environmental and power quality conditions. Highlight at Intersolar will be the new Strikesorb 35 modules specifically designed to protect the DC power circuits of photovoltaic systems. Strikesorb 35’s unique characteristics make it the only Class I MOV-based SPD capable of withstanding multiple direct lightning strikes and operating safely in systems rated up to 1,500V DC. The Strikesorb 35 models have been tested and are compliant to prEN 50539-11 and UL 1449 3rd Ed:2011.In the case of a lightning strike the Strikesorb modules will divert the current to ground and away from the sensitive equipment located inside the solar inverter or throughout the rest of the system. Raycap electrical protection solutions provide industrial surge protection at the PV inverter and string or combiner boxes which make up the key elements of any PV system. Its industrial lightning protection solutions offer protection from lightning to help PV operators maintain continuous power generation, lower their operational expenditures and protect the overall reliability and availability of the solar power operation.
Raycap makes a point of testing and certifying its products to the criteria set by national and international standard organizations. In a company-owned PV plant with 1,4 MW power Raycap has installed a R&D test facility to enable engineers to effectively simulate the performance of the company’s surge protective devices in an actual PV environment.
