Sweet Soul Records Reaches Japan Music Distribution Agreement with Arizona-based Forward Motion Concepts and Award-winning Lyricist and Music Producer Paris Toon

An exclusive license agreement has been reached between SWEET SOUL RECORDS and Forward Motion Concepts, representing music producer Paris Toon and soul band Mothers Favorite Child, allowing Japan distribution of their latest album “Baptism By Fire” in both physical and digital formats.

Tokyo, Japan: Today, SWEET SOUL RECORDS, parent company lifesound, Inc., officially announced that an agreement has been reached with Forward Motion Concepts for nationwide distribution of the album “Baptism By Fire,” by Paris Toon feat. Mothers Favorite Child.

“Baptism By Fire,” set for release on May 23, 2012 in partnership with BBQ Records, contains 14 previously released tracks and three Japan-exclusive bonus tracks from Paris Toon, the Billboard Award-winning lyricist and musical enigma behind Brooklyn born Jazz soul band Mothers Favorite Child.

Paris Toon
Paris started out as a hip-hop producer in the mid ‘90s and has done Jazz and Soul production, and remix work for many different projects during his career. His influences range from Rakim and Stevie Wonder to Sly Stone, Prince and John Lennon. These influences make themselves evident in his compositions and many of the lyrics he writes. As newer artists like D'Angelo, Jill Scott, Adele and Ledisi came on the scene, Paris' inspiration grew in even broader directions while still holding firmly to musical pioneers from the past. His writing style has taken the genres of Soul, Jazz and R&B to a level unfamiliar to most, provoking intense curiosity and appreciation for the "next phase" of Soul music.

“It feels great to be distributed in Japan! Tomo Fujita played guitar for Mothers Favorite Child and was part of the collective, and he would always tell me how much Japan would love Mothers Favorite Child and that if we could just get the music and band out there they would support us all the way. Tomo was right so far and I have always respected how much the R&B listeners of Japan admire true R&B Soul music and I feel honored that they embraced “Baptism By Fire” the way they have. It makes going through the fire to write the album so worth it and I look so very forward to having Mothers Favorite Child be able to perform in Japan one day.” says Paris Toon responding to an interviewers question on releasing his music in Japan.

The Paris Toon recording project, enigmatically titled, "Baptism By Fire," is a portion of a life narrated by Mothers Favorite Child.

“Baptism By Fire” will be released in Japan by SWEET SOUL RECORDS on May 23, 2012.
