Investment boutique MLC Properties appoints Prof. Dr. Patrick Peters to the Supervisory Board

MLC Properties AG has appointed Prof. Dr. Patrick Peters as Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board
MLC Properties AG, investment boutique with a focus on East Africa, has appointed Prof. Dr. Patrick Peters as Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The PR professor, business journalist and communications consultant is serving at the board, which is led by Dr. Johannes Seemüller, since January 1, 2021. Daniel Demary is a further board member.
"We are pleased to have found in Patrick Peters a Vice Chairman who is very well connected in the investment scene and has a great interest in investments in East Africa. We are sure that he will enrich the Supervisory Board, also through his experience in other supervisory and advisory boards," says Dr. Johannes Seemüller.
MLC Properties AG is currently developing sustainable real estate projects in the East African countries of Rwanda and Tanzania, which yield returns above the average capital market level. "Overall, we create broad diversification through investments in existing properties and new construction projects with space for retail, hospitality, healthcare and other commercial activities. In addition to adding financial value for investors, we contribute to local people through our 'Buy Africa, Build Africa' approach because we specifically focused on supporting the local economy. This is our contribution to impact investing," says Dr. Hendrik Müller-Lankow, CEO of MLC Properties AG.
This follows a future-oriented approach: East Africa is one of the African regions most characterized by peace, rule of law and high political stability. These countries therefore offer a safe and secure business environment, according to the BVMW (German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses). According to the IMF (International Monetary Fund), economic growth was around six percent in 2019 and is expected to continue to grow in the Corona year 2020 between one and two percent. According to the African Development Bank, East Africa will remain the continent's most dynamic region in the future.
Dr. Hendrik Müller-Lankow is also positive about the new appointment: "Patrick Peters has a great understanding of our company's goals and will help us to position our current offering even more strongly, especially in German-speaking countries. Furthermore, we are working on the future of MLC Properties AG and want to continuously expand our investment spectrum with new assets and offers. Among other things, we are preparing a project to create affordable housing in order to make a contribution against local housing shortages in the affordable price segment."
In addition to the Supervisory Board, MLC Properties AG also has an Investment Committee, which is prominently staffed with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Daniel, Anthony Lewis and Diana Gichaga. In East Africa itself, the company is represented by Co-CEO Heri Bomani, an expert on the East African real estate and financial sector and former Tanzanian banker.
