cataract operation

The decisive criterion of postoperative endophthalmitis after cataract operations or intravitreal injections is the contamination of the operating area and the instruments / implants with pathogens during the surgical procedure. In traditional operating theaters, the "sterility" is very limited and only given directly under the supply air ceiling. However, the surgical field is almost completely shielded from the ultra-clean air by the surgical microscope and the surgeon's head, so that it is practically impossible to guarantee optimal aseptic conditions in the surgical field.
Operio is a mobile laminar air flow device that achieves sterility exactly where it is needed - in the operating field area. Operio creates high aseptic conditions on the instruments and the surgical field (and that is what counts!) It creates ISO class 5 sterile conditions for the operating aera which is comparable only to the latest and most expensive operating rooms , as the sterile air flow protects the instruments and the operating field without obstacles such as operating room microscopes or surgical team. The sterile Air Flow device Operio filters the ambient air through a highly cleaning H 14 Hepa filter with an efficiency of over 99.995% which eliminates bacteria, microorganisms and also Coronavirus Covid-19 to over 99.9%!
The devices are positioned in such a way that the sterile, ultra-clean air has no obstacles to the operating area and the instruments, thus achieving the very best aseptic conditions in eye surgery.
Due to the shortness of the interventions, there is a very high flow of patients in the operating room in eye surgery. These patients can bring germs into the operating theater themselves, which can then also become a risk for subsequent patients. The mobility of the devices and the attractive price makes it possible to create extremely aseptic conditions for eye surgery and intravitreal injections even in older operating rooms and in outpatient settings. Existing eye operating theaters can be upgraded in the area of the operating area and the instruments so that they meet the highest hygiene standards. Because of the mobility and affordable price of these units and the severity of endophthalmitis, it is now possible to set the same hygienic standards for intravitreal injections as for cataract operations even in very old operating rooms without any refurbishing works.

Postoperative infections after transplantation
Postoperative infections after transplantation
Transplantation of organs has become a successful modality for treatment of organ diseases. Improved techniques for organ preservation, surgical procedures, rejection management, and posttransplant infection prophylaxis and treatment have contributed to this success. Most identifiable of the advances in solid organ transplantation (SOT) is the development of potent immunosuppressive agents. However, the use of these agents in the prevention and management of rejection is closely interrelated to the development of

To fight against hospital infections and the more and more resistant bacteria’s it has been developed Toul Mobile Laminar Airflow. Laminar airflow systems has been used for many years in the operating rooms and have shown a significant reduction of surgical site infection. Unfortunately it was not possible to use this technology in most existing operating rooms due to huge installation and renovation costs. Toul has therefore developed a new mobile

The danger from hospital infections is worsening because, increasingly, they cannot be cured with commonly used antibiotics. In 1974, only 2% of Staphylococcus aureus infections in the USA were MRSA (methicillin-resistant). By 2003, that figure had soared to 57%, and now is over 60%. Pacemaker implantation, implantable defibrillators and all other surgical procedures, involves the risk of infection. Infection remains the most common pacemaker-related complication after equipment failure and sensing and pacing defects. It is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality despite improved surgical techniques and the development of new pacemaker devices. If a pacemaker patient gets an infection the bacteria can persist even when the rest of the body is free of
