Innovating “next generation” retail logistics for FMCG

04-30-2012 11:13 AM CET | Energy & Environment

Press release from: Fleming Europe

A lot has been made of the rapid development of consumer culture in Central and Eastern Europe, but how has the inclusion of 170 million buyers in CEE impacted the function of FMCG and Retail Logistics?

Demand for FMCG in the CEE has grown year on year since 1999. The more than a decade of growth began in an environment with almost no modern logistics infrastructure. Demand alone has pushed producers, wholesalers, retailers, and the retail logistics industry that serves them, to innovate across all operational fields and invest in new capacity.

FMCG & Retail Logistics 2012, October 10th -11th in Prague, will look at the lessons learned through the boom and the now tightening market conditions. The timing is right to apply these “lean retail logistics” lessons across CEE, which is facing its first true slowdown. The forum will also examine how the major market players are re-examining their own retail logistics practices, supply chains, as well as distribution & warehousing.

Feedback from the supply chain will be critical in 2012-13 as growth slows or declines across the region. Is further optimization possible? Which investments going to be taken off the table, which will be prioritized? Find out from frontline producers, wholesalers, retailers and retail logistics specialists in Prague.

The program will feature four major themes 'Globalization Drives the World', 'Sustainability and Resource Efficiency', 'Transportation and Distribution', and 'Legislation, Policies and Strategies'. Key presentations will be delivered by Kotanyi, British American Tobacco, and Carlsbad Mineral Water among others. Eight case studies will keep things fresh along with 4 interactive panel discussions.

Request the Agenda to find new approaches to changing face of FMCG and Retail Logistics. Take notes from the sharpest market players.
