Channelnews - USB Net Technology - Exclusive DIGITUS® multi-function servers make USB devices network-capable
Lüdenscheid, 30.05.07 - The computer and network specialist Assmann Electronic is launching the latest Net USB technology onto the market with DIGITUS®. Net USB technology for the first time enables the transfer of USB signals over the network.Until now it has only been possible to incorporate into the network expensive network printers such as laser printers, which support the LPR or RAW protocol. From now on low priced GDI printers from the discounter can also be addressed over the network via the USB port with the multi-function server from DIGITUS®.
Thanks to this technical innovation, up to two USB devices, whether USB printers, scanners, drives or other USB devices can now be mainstreamed into the network, irrespective of the protocols supported.
The multi-function servers from DIGITUS® come in three convictive versions: as a LAN version with one or two USB ports, or as a wireless LAN version with two USB ports.
Dealers can obtain further information from www.digitus.info. The DIGITUS® Fingerprint Reader can be purchased by dealers from the usual distributors.
We would be glad to provide editors on request with samples for product tests. Please use our press contact for further information.
Company profil
(März 2007)
Assmann Electronic GmbH, with its headquarters in Lüdenscheid, has made a name for itself as a manufacturer and distributor of high quality devices for the electronics industry. In order to satisfy the ever-increasing needs of the market, its range has been extended at an early stage to include accessories for the computer and networking market.
In addition to the overall product range of computer and networking accessories, Assmann Electronic GmbH is now also a leading provider of special solutions, which have been developed or designed in cooperation with its customers.
Assmann today employs more than 300 people, of whom around 100 work in production and development or what is known as the OEM/ODM sector. The goal of these employees is to provide the best possible solution for the benefit of customers, to look for suitable sub-contractors in Europe, the US and the Far East and to monitor them continuously to ensure they meet customer needs. Only through measures like this has it been possible to demonstrate the strength of Assmann thanks to its attractive pricing, consistently high quality and consistent delivery capacity.
A further core competency is the company’s expansion of the existing network between customers and suppliers. This expansion can only be implemented if the basics, i.e. Assmann’s systems, are constantly adapted to the latest market conditions. With this in mind, all the systems that are involved in creating value are continuously checked and fine-tuned to ensure they are right for the market. As well as the results of these business activities, the company also derives its success from the supporting business units of marketing, logistics and IT management. This is why even today it is developing and providing catalogues and mailings, transportation and logistics concepts plus internet and intranet solutions and online links for its clients.
