ST. LOUIS, MO -- Clean announces its plant in O’Fallon, MO has been named a recipient of the 2011 Gold Award for outstanding practices in Wastewater Pretreatment by the Missouri Water and Environmental Association.

The award was presented to Clean’s O’Fallon Vice-President and General Manager Patrick Farris at a special ceremony on March 26, 2012.

Clean was honored by the Association’s Industrial Wastewater Committee for maintaining an excellent record of waste discharge limitations during the 2011 calendar year. The firm was nominated for the award by the City of O’Fallon Water Department.

“Clean is known for its green practices and our Dissolved Air Flotation System or DAFS has made a big difference in how we deal with water pretreatment,” Farris said. “The system utilizes water filtration treatments to remove harmful oils and solids. It is a real benefit to not only our staff and customers but also to the community. We are pleased to be recognized for these efforts by the Missouri Water and Environmental Association.”

The Missouri Water Environment Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of water treatment and water resources and the relationship of these resources to the total environment. It is an association of some 700 water quality professionals. The Association advances the science of water quality, educates, disseminates technical information, increases public understanding, and promotes sound public policy. It annually presents awards to companies who maintain the highest standards of waste water environmental practices across the state.
