On November 7th, 2011, Quest CE invited over 40,000 representatives to take a comprehensive social media survey to learn how representatives view and follow compliance policies. With these results, Quest CE ventured to find what social media compliance and archiving solutions were available for the financial service industry. Quest CE’s Utilizing Social Media Survey white papers compiled survey results and industry proven information to discover that the industry’s leading social media compliance solutions lay in browser-based or application-based technologies.

Quest CE understands the benefits provided by social media are only benefits if they outweigh the costs, and companies who implement FINRA and SEC social media compliance solutions will receive the greatest return on investment in revenue and new clientele. FINRA has announced that firms need to expect their presence in the 2012 fiscal year, motivating firms to adopt a social media compliance policy and archiving solution for their representatives.

According to a 2010 survey asking Registered Investment Advisers why they were not employing social media communication for business purposes, over 80% responded it was because of compliance issues whether it be navigating through them or setting up the required monitoring systems.
