NBS Graduates say: 'We wanted to stay longer'

Radio broadcasters who have graduated from the National Broadcasting School (NBS) have all said they wanted to stay at school longer. So, from 2008, NBS courses will last thirteen weeks instead of eleven - at no extra cost.
NBS director, Rory McLeod said: "The suggestion has come from NBS grads so it's bound to be good. I trust their judgement and that's why we've decided to do it".
The longer course will allow the radio school to focus on two key areas: - increased voice training and new modules about on-line radio. Rory McLeod said: We're really proud with the voice training programme that's that's been in place. All our students have been extremely enthusiastic about it. So, we're decided to give our voice sessions even more time. We have a fantastic voice coach and she wants to work more magic".
Growth in listening to radio via internet, and in the number of internet stations, means that the NBS will include practical sessions in online radio, both audio and web content. "Our approach to this will be the same as normal - practical and intensive". He said the Radio School wanted to maintain its reputation for operating the most relevant and skills-based radio training in the UK.
The National Broadcasting School is to peg the radio course fee at the usual rate, despite the increase in the lenght of its courses.
