NBS Announces Expansion of Southeastern US Network
NBS, a fully integrated communication services provider and telecom reseller, announced today the expansion of its nation-wide IP network to include a point of presence in Miami, FL. This latest network expansion brings the company’s “total telecom solution” to even more enterprise, small business and carrier customers around the country.
Miami is considered a top hub location due to its access to global fiber and satellite infrastructure, the presence of multinational corporations, and due to telecom's importance as an economic engine in the region. NBS’ Miami infrastructure handles a multitude of traffic that includes SONET, Ethernet, MPLS, Voice and Internet, which can all be handed off in a single location. The city is a dominant connecting point to the Caribbean and Latin America regions with strong connections to Europe as well.
Further enhancing NBS’ Southeastern network coverage, this expansion not only provides entry into one of the fastest growing telecom hub locations in the country, but also brings even more diversity and flexibility to the company's services portfolio. “This expansion into Miami was the result of organic growth in demand for our high bandwidth connectivity products as well our homegrown NBS V.o.I.C.E. Hosted VoIP platform,” explained NBS President Russell Markman. “It is both personally satisfying and professionally rewarding that the demand for our services is driving this network expansion and is validating our long term corporate strategy” he added.
Along with this new Miami node, the company maintains Points of Presence nationwide to allow quick and efficient interconnection to virtually any carrier or customer. The PoPs are interconnected through a self-healing fiber optic transport network. The company also recently joined the Telx Internet Peering Exchange to reduce costs and expand network coverage even further. This Exchange's centralized Ethernet Switching fabric interconnects ISPs nationwide, delivering diverse and redundant access to the internet backbone networks of a large number of domestic and international carrier partners.
