aircool / McQuay News: More performance, efficiency and environmentally friendly
Kältetechnik aircool expands the rich and powerful portfolio of industrial liquid chillers with new and revised McQuay products. The continuously variable screw and turbo compressors without exception are quiet running and are highly efficient at a climate neutral ODP value of 0.Munich, Germany – This year Kältetechnik aircool GmbH together with McQuay International are offering many innovations and advancements in the field of industrial cold water production. Thus, among the air-cooled AWS series which already offer several classes of noise and efficiency with the option of “free cooling” are immediately available in an inverter version. The benefits of inverter technology lie mainly in the significantly reduced starting currents. In addition, the chillers have impressive efficiency values, an EER up to 3.14 and an ESEER of up to 5.24. The AWS series equipped with continuously adjustable screw compressors cover the power range from 635 KW and in the strongest version over 2 MW per unit.
McQuay and aircool introduced the newly developed WHB Screw water-cooled chillers (EER to 4.41; ESEER up to 5.37), which are available in a power range between 120 kW and 570 kW per unit. Compared to the already existing coolers of this type in our product portfolio, the WHB units are characterized by their compact dimensions and their modular design. They are therefore particularly suitable for space restricted installations and retrofitting or upgrading existing plants in difficult situations. The series is also available in a split design with an external condenser having the additional designation - ME.
The proven PFS series in its latest C-version has been revised and expanded and is being offered in two additional versions: Thus there are now 11 instead of 9 screw chillers available in this series between 370 and 1215 kW of power per unit. These chillers, equipped with a flooded evaporator guarantee a high economic value thanks to ESEER values up to 7.43.
If the investment costs associated with a cooling solution are in the foreground, aircool / McQuay offers a series of Proximus-C industrial screw chillers in an attractive price-performance ratio. The current version utilizes the ozone-safe refrigerant R410A in the power range between 380 and 2,150 kW per unit. It achieves in the standard SE version an EER of up to 4.64 or a maximum ESEER 5.37 (XE version: EER max. 5.09; ESEER max. 5.98). The high volumetric capacity of R410A (ODP = 0) also allows the use of smaller technical components.
All screw chillers have the latest Microtec III controllers.
In the range of turbo-magnetic technology, aircool relies on the proprietary McQuay WME series with a power range of 1,400 to 2,000 kW per unit, in addition to the successful and extremely efficient WMC series with a ESEER up to 9.30. The new design which is based on the WMC-magnetic technology was first presented in 2010 at the Nuremberg Chillventa. At the aircool booth, visitors were able to get an impression of the yet again increased performance of the water-cooled chiller under operation conditions.
All McQuay products can be obtained through Kältetechnik aircool GmbH in Munich. The product range includes refrigeration units with a capacity of 5 to 9485 KW per unit as well as accessories and spare parts for various applications in all industries. The refrigeration specialists have a strong sales and service structure which has grown over 25 years as an authorized McQuay partner. Thus, Kältetechnik aircool GmbH customers are always in good hands from initial contact through to commissioning and after-sales service.
