09-30-2011 08:19 AM CET | Industry, Real Estate & Construction

Press release from: Zorg Biogas AG

26.09.11 Swiss company Zorg Biogas AG confirms its intention to buy German biogas plant constructor. The deal is to be closed by the end of this year.

The name of the company that is going to be purchased is not disclosed as legal formalities are not finalized yet. It is reported that this company has long term history and constructed more then 100 biogas plants.

There is an opinion that German biogas market is saturated and unpromising. Zorg Biogas AG has another idea in that regard. 70% of all biogas plants being under construction in the world are concentrated in Germany. In year 2010 800 biogas plants were constructed in Germany. Farmers’ consciousness is on top level. Green tariff works. No problems with bank loans. At Zorg Biogas there is an opinion that within next 10 years there will be second wave for biogas plants construction. An upgrading of existing and construction of modern and more efficient biogas plants will take place. Zorg Biogas has what to offer to the market. Thanks to tough control over the expenses Zorg Biogas offers high quality at relatively low price.

Zorg Biogas works in 12 countries of the world, mainly in Eastern and Southern Europe. This acquisition will broaden Zorg Biogas presence to the West. Zorg Biogas intends to be in the top 10 list of worlds’ leading players of biogas industry in terms of revenue, personnel number and global presence after acquisition of the German competitor.

Zorg Biogas is also considering purchase of other biogas companies.
