Strengthens critical remote control and monitoring applications

Ottawa and Kingston, CANADA – April 23, 2007 – SkyWave Mobile Communications, the leading supplier of D+ communications products and services, along with Aztech Associates Inc., specialists in remote control and monitoring systems, today announce the availability of the SPIKE messaging display terminal, developed specifically for use with SkyWave’s D+ satellite and GPRS terminals. Using the SPIKE and SkyWave terminals, integrators and service providers can easily develop text messages for their critical remote control and monitoring applications.

The SPIKE is a flexible, fully configurable messaging display terminal allowing users to communicate using free-form or pre-defined text messages. In addition to the ability to transmit position information, the SPIKE, when combined with a SkyWave terminal, becomes the ideal tool for creating location-based services for land mobile or marine applications.

“The combined efforts of SkyWave and Aztech enable integrators and service providers to quickly address text messaging requirements in some of the world’s most demanding locations,” says Geoff Salter, President of Aztech. “Security and safety are just two examples of critical applications that together SkyWave and Aztech help enable.”

“The SPIKE messaging display terminal has a rich set of features that makes it very easy to create text messaging applications,” says Solomon Wong, VP of Marketing at SkyWave. “Text messaging using satellite or terrestrial communications is a necessary component to many critical applications.”

The SPIKE terminal is now available. For more information, contact SkyWave (www.SkyWave.com) or Aztech (www.aztechinc.com).
