Always in close proximity to the customers and their requirements – a fact impressively demonstrated by PERI at the bauma 2007 in Munich. From 23rd to 29th April, construction industry specialists were treated to a wealth of information at the PERI stand: through intensive discussions with PERI sales engineers, tours of the exhibits and numerous live demonstrations which distinctly highlighted the assembly and safety advantages of the PERI products. On an area of around 4,200 m², PERI presented a wide range of new product and services, effective practical improvements as well as proven items from formwork and scaffolding technology.

At the same time, it was crystal clear to all visitors. PERI had invested strongly in future activities: through trend-setting, innovative products and by the optimization of service performance; for example, engineering for planning operations. And PERI has greatly expanded its production capacities with the goal of serving its customers even faster and more favourably.

On the other hand, visitors could see for themselves that they could indeed work safer and faster with PERI: with the solution-oriented services, know-how and the successfully used system equipment on countless occasions from PERI, the optimum solution for each construction project can be found every time. The economical systems and solutions provided by PERI improve building processes, lower costs and increase on-site safety - decisive competitive advantages for contractors.

In the process, PERI customers from the tremendous innovative strength along with the almost 40-year experience of the Weissenhorn-based company - and not only in Germany: with 45 subsidiaries and 100 efficiently-run logistical centres, over 65 national markets are served in the meantime. Worldwide, PERI is the competent partner for all applications in the area of the formwork and scaffolding technology.

PERI MAXIMO for the walls: Orderly concrete finish in the shortest time

The new PERI MAXIMO wall formwork system succeeds in minimizing imperfections in the concrete finish and creates a neat joint and tie arrangement. By means of a newly developed conical tie system, the wall formwork system does not require any spacer tubes and work takes place from only one side. This means maximum reductions in expense and considerable savings of time and resources. The result: through wage savings, PERI MAXIMO already generates the entire material costs from the onset with just eight uses per month.

Apart from the advantages of a panel formwork regarding flexibility and faster shuttering times, MAXIMO opens up new possibilities of designing remaining visible concrete surfaces through the arrangement of individual elements. With the BFD alignment coupler as the only connection part required for all element joints and filler timber compensations, PERI MAXIMO can be combined with TRIO panel formwork at all times.

PERI LICO Lightweight column formwork:
Forming columns without a crane

PERI LICO is the new lightweight column formwork for square and rectangular cross-sections with widths ranging from 20 cm to 60 cm. With additional ties, shear wall sections up to 1.30 m long are possible. All elements can be moved by hand and the connecting parts are permanently attached to the panels which means they cannot be lost. LICO column elements are available in heights of 0.50 m, 1.00 m and 3.00 m.

PERI GRIDFLEX Grid element slab formwork:
High working safety levels and simple assembly

The new PERI GRIDFLEX is a flexible slab formwork system complete with accessible girder grids. It sets new benchmarks where safety is concerned. The lightweight aluminium components and pre-determined assembly sequence ensure short shuttering times. The GRIDFLEX element is hooked in from below at one end and swivelled upwards at the other with the shuttering aid. After this, the slab props can be positioned.

The GRIDFLEX girder grid formwork is extremely flexible. Filler areas are formed in the system itself and adapting to the floor plan is then carried out by simply telescoping with the compensation and standard panels. Columns can also be shuttered without any problems. The panel grid system allows safe access for laying the free choice of formlining.

PERI BEAMDECK Aluminium beam slab formwork:
Flexibility and simple handling

PERI BEAMDECK is the new beam slab formwork made of aluminium with integrated drophead to allow early striking. This reduces on-site material requirements. Very few different individual parts with only three system components ensure fast forming as well as easy handling and logistical operations. Depending on concrete surface requirements, the formlining can be freely selected.

The design of the girder grids can be easily and individually optimised according to the required slab thickness. Through the possibility of exchanging main beams for longitudinal and lateral compensation, the system can be adapted to all ground plans. The generously-sized prop grid arrangement of 2.10 m x 2.10 m results in less prop requirements and even slabs with up to 10° inclinations can be suitably formed with the specially-designed drophead.

Large forming areas quickly moved with PERI slab table systems

Rentable SRU steel waler slab table modules with the SRU swivel head provide a sensible and practical supplement to the VT table modules. The advantages here are the small superstructure depth and the simple connection possibilities with PERI standard components. For all slab tables with GT 24, VT 20 or timber, PERI now also offers the lightweight TK table head which can be universally used for a wide range of girder combinations. Suitable for the crane-independent moving of PERI slab table systems are the RCS landing platform and the RCS lift.

PERI RCS Rail Climbing System:
Modular system for rail-guided climbing

PERI RCS (= Rail Climbing System) is the new modular construction system for different climbing applications – as a formwork scaffold complete with carriage or as climbing protection panel which provides safe working areas for floors under construction.

The RCS climbing protection panel provides completely shielded working areas for those floors actually under construction. It offers protection against the wind and weather resulting in increased productivity. At the same time, the exterior can be used as highly visible advertising billboards.

The RCS formwork scaffolding with carriage and self-climbing device provides a comprehensive safety concept through the roller bearing-mounted carriage with self-locking mechanism and the high, totally enclosed protection panel. The working platform is already attached to the formwork by means of hinged climbing shoes for the first casting segment. In both cases, the climbing scaffold is securely connected to the building by means of the climbing shoe, also during the climbing procedure.

In order to save crane time, the PERI RCS rail climbing system can be partially retrofitted at any time with mobile self-climbing devices. The use of mobile climbing hydraulic equipment reduces on-site material requirements and makes crane-independent climbing cost-effective even for small building heights.

PERI VARIOKIT Construction set:
Rentable systems for bridges and tunnels

With the new VARIOKIT engineering construction set, many civil engineering formwork tasks can be easily and economically realized - for example, in bridge construction as a formwork carriage for steel composite bridges and as a cantilevered parapet carriage as well as a movable load-carrying system in tunnel construction. In addition, through the numerous connection possibilities, cost-effective geometrical and load-bearing adjustments can be achieved.

Modular construction systems with standardized individual components increase the utilization rate and reduce on-site material requirements. The cost-effectiveness of formwork solutions is significantly increased through the use of rentable system elements.

PERI UP Rosett Flex Industrial scaffold: Flexible – safe – fast

PERI UP Rosett Flex is the new flexible system scaffold with maximum adaptability for the erection of very safe working areas. The uniform length and width grid dimensions of 25 or 50 cm for the decking, standards and ledgers guarantee maximum levels of flexibility.

With the new decks, safe working platforms with tightly fitting, gap-free surfaces can be assembled. The toe board provides continuous protection along the side. The perforated, non-slip decking is immediately secured against lifting (integrated lock against lifting) when positioned on the ledger. PERI UP decking also provides safe access and assembly levels for ST 100 stacking towers.

The basis for all scaffolding applications is the scaffold node which has particularly high node rigidity as well as offering different connection possibilities. The ledger can be installed by site personnel from a safe position due to the self-locking wedge (gravity lock).

Load-bearing climbing bracket application:
Mounting shoe for the PERI brace frame

An example for PERI product optimization: the PERI SB brace frame is used with PERI wall formwork systems for single-sided concreting. In this way, fresh concrete pressure can be safely transferred into the foundations. From a suspended position, the linked brace frame elements form a high load-bearing and cantilevered climbing bracket solution. At the same time, the new mounting shoe transfers up to 200 kN per brace frame into the structure by means of two technically approved climbing cones. The system component is simple to install and allows safe handling - for example, suspending the brace frame unit in the same way as a climbing bracket.

Production efficiency through large manufacturing capacities

Another interesting fact for visitors was confirmation that PERI also continues to grow. Through the large-scale expansion of the production facilities at the main production plant in Weissenhorn, the company has set the course for the future. Large, world-wide combined numbers of units lead to favourable manufacturing costs and reliable quality due to a high level of automation.

For cost-effective implementation of even the boldest of architectural visions and highly unusual construction unit geometry, PERI creates dimensionally accurate 3D volume units. Using the architect´s surface model, PERI engineers develop 3D volume data in order to obtain an optimized arrangement as well as design of the formwork units. Realization, on the basis of this geometrical data, is carried out using the new CNC wood processing facility which mills the individual formwork units extremely accurately. From this, the PERI formwork assembly service creates complete formwork elements which can be used on the construction site similar to a system formwork.

At the bauma, PERI also presented its new 2008 Handbook to the huge number of international visitors to the stand which contains a comprehensive overview of reference projects and product overview in seven languages. Numerous project examples and solutions document PERI know-how for construction industry specialists, and vouch for the economic advantages when using PERI systems.
