Reliance Medical Strengthens Its Retail Position

Acquisitions are not new to Reliance Medical, having successfully integrated other significant UK first aid brands; Frank Sammeroff and Lewis's Medical Supplies. CMS will be no exception to this well-trodden path to successful integrations.
Reliance Medical has built its international reputation over the past 14 years through their uncompromising commitment to developing their network of emergency first aid and healthcare distributors, along with supporting government and public sector bodies. The company has recently invested heavily in its wholly-owned Shanghai-based facility; where all Reliance Medical first aid dressings and consumables are sourced and manufactured. The business has seen significant year-on-year growth within its core market and feels the acquisition of CMS Medical to be a significant manoeuvre to increase its footprint in the retail sector and drive future growth for the business.
Following the acquisition, former Managing Director of CMS Medical, Steve Mulvey has joined Reliance Medical as Commercial Director for their Retail Division. Having worked in the healthcare sector for over 17 years, it is felt that the credibility Steve brings to the division and the continuity this offers the existing customer base is crucial to ensuring the long-term success of this enterprise.
Andy Pear, CEO, states this is an extremely positive step for both Reliance Medical and for CMS Medical's retail-based business partners, who will greatly benefit from Reliance Medical's increased manufacturing capabilities. He continued to confirm that this acquisition forms part of a clear strategy which will lead to significant sales and revenue enhancements and even impact the structure of the group as a whole in the years to come.
