Press release from: IMA

Sept. 14, 2011 Naperville, IL – Because the Performance Improvement Council’s (PIC) role within the Incentive Marketing Association (IMA) is to help firms optimize human capital through proven recognition and incentive programs, the organization launched a new website and logo designed to elevate the conversation about these issues.

PIC President Mike Ryan, who is also senior vice president of Madison Performance Group and one of 16 PIC members, said, “The new site reflects the PIC’s goal of maintaining a useful exchange of ideas and information with both end users and suppliers of recognition and incentive initiatives. We wanted to make the latest opinions and insights more readily accessible.” The new site features a variety of informational sources including a blog by PIC members, an events calendar, and several timely white papers that discuss topics like “Social Networking and Recognition,” “Optimizing Human Capital in Tough Times” and calculating “Employee Lifetime Value.”

“Since we were updating the website, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to change our logo as well to better reflect our mission and the site’s new look,” Ryan continued.

PIC member and coordinator of the new website Ryan Bearbower, who is also marketing director for EGR International Inc., said that his vision for the site was to underscore the immediacy of the organization’s findings by changing the URL to thepicnow.org. “The new site design, logo and branding more appropriately positions the PIC as a thought leader in today’s complex world of customer and employee engagement,” he added.

A new PIC white paper, “People Power Sets The Pace For Innovation,” is scheduled to appear on the site and speaks directly to generating discussions about the importance of human capital in today’s workplace.

“The PIC and its members are in the forefront of conversations happening today about engaging employees so that firms can transition from cost cutting to growth. One of the biggest opportunities for every firm is in the area of innovation. Innovation is an opportunity to re-engage the work force and move beyond the lingering effects of the financial crisis,” said PIC member Jerry Klein, the paper’s contributing author and senior solution design strategist at Maritz, LLC. “In fact, innovation may be ‘the next big thing.’ Recognition is an important way to reinforce innovative practices from coming from the front lines. This new paper from the PIC is a starting point in the discussion on this topic."
