Curbing PDS Related Problems Made Easy – PDS Gaya

With whole new features adopted by Public Distribution System Gaya, Bihar, the authority firmly believes that curbing PDS related problem in the District and the State will no more be a problem.

The country and the state has been suffering from the unsolvable problem of food supplies not reaching the right hand. With the hope to put an end to all these, the Gaya District administration adopted features like, GPS tracking or supply trucks, weigh management and Management Information System. All these features have been put up in the new PDS Gaya website.

There have been problems of lifting goods from supply trucks by people before it reaches it destination. From now on, this will not happen. Each truck coming from warehouses to the Fair Price Shops will be installed with a GPS tracker which will be monitored 24/7. Responsible person will know where the truck is where does it stop and at what time. In this way, stealing, lifting of supplies will no more be a problem.

Another PDS Gaya method of making the people aware is letting them know what PDS is all about, what are the various schemes, etc. by visiting the website, visitors will not only be able to file complaints through the grievance cell but will also be able to gain enough information about Public Distribution System. One can also get answers to many frequently asked questions. By being aware, people will be able to make the most out of the schemes made available by Government.

With Weigh Management and Management Information System, keeping track of supplies, how much has been distributed and how much should remain can be easily known. This in turn will check illegal distribution of supplies to those who are ineligible.

In this way, PDS Gaya will be able to check corruption prevailing in the Public Distribution system. Other districts and states are believed to follow the same method.
