San Diego website design firm M.B. Strategic has partnered with The National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) in collaboration with NASA to launch an innovative and accessible website for the west coast’s premier TEDxNASA@SiliconValley event “Extreme Green” on August 17, 2011 (http://tedxnasa.com/silicon-valley/)

SAN DIEGO, California -- August 16, 2011 -- San Diego website design firm M.B. Strategic has partnered with The National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) in collaboration with NASA to develop and launch an innovative and Section 508 compliant accessible website for the west coast’s premier TEDxNASA@SiliconValley event, “Extreme Green” scheduled for August 17th, 2011, in San Francisco (http://tedxnasa.com/silicon-valley/).

M.B. Strategic worked closely with NIA and NASA to create a cutting-edge website that is also user-friendly and accessible to all people including those with disabilities. The website was developed and rigorously tested to be Section 508 compliant, an important government regulation prescribing broad-accessibility for the disabled on all government websites. “NASA and the NIA were in need of a website that matched the inviting and innovative nature of the TEDxNASA conference, but was also accessible to everyone. We were very pleased to bring their vision to life,” said M.B. Strategic founding partner Melissa Monday.

The TEDxNASA@SiliconValley website includes a compelling and engaging design, integrated social media features, animation and parallax scrolling technology commonly used in video games. Many of the website’s more advanced features are rarely used on accessibility compliant websites because of the unique challenges of integration with the needs of screen readers and other assistant technologies. The website presents visitors with a complete guide to the event, including registration for those who would like to attend, reviews of speakers and the venue, and a live streaming video feed of the conference that will be available on the day of the event.

Although M.B. Strategic (http://www.mbstrategic.com/) was founded just two years ago, the company’s willingness to take on unique challenges and work with a broad range of industries has helped them to flourish in the past eighteen months. M.B. Strategic works with companies in real estate, fashion and apparel, public education, and now more recently government. “I don’t think we knew what to expect when we first founded the company, but we let our passion drive the everyday work and we’re just elated to find ourselves here,” said M.B. Strategic founding partner Ted Bradley.
