ITL Group names first Group Sustainability Officer

As part of their recently updated sustainability strategy, global apparel manufacturer ITL Group has announced the appointment of Jimmy Christopher as the company’s Group Sustainability Officer.
Prior to joining ITL, Christopher has held various positions in Energy and Environmental Management including most recently at Change Pathways where he specialised in climate change mitigation projects. Christopher graduated from UCT in 2014 with Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently completing the final year of his Master's degree in Climate Change and Sustainable Development.
Christopher will initially be tasked with researching and redefining sustainability for the business and assisting in formulating policies, strategies and plans to implement a cohesive sustainability initiative across the group. One of his projects is to complete a companywide Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory by engaging with all ITL's operations globally to determine all their sources of emissions and calculate their carbon footprint to minimise ITL’s impact on the environment.
