KTGY celebrates the distinguished career of Chris Texter as Principals Alan Scales and Brad Golba continue his legacy of mentorship, collaboration and design excellence.

IRVINE, Calif. - KTGY, an award-winning design firm focused on architecture, interior design, branded environments and urban design, announced today that Chris Texter will retire from his role as principal on June 18, 2026. As a former board member, Chris was pivotal in shaping the growth of KTGY. In his role as principal, he collaborated with teams nationwide to design a variety of award-winning residential communities celebrated for their elevated design and thoughtful planning. His belief in the transformative power of housing was sparked from one of his first projects with BRIDGE Housing, an experience that set the course for his career-long conviction: housing can transform lives.

As a trusted partner, Chris has been a driving force behind the growth of the firm's residential studios for more than 30 years. He has worked alongside Alan Scales, Brad Golba, Bryan Sevy and several other key team members for decades to support clients, build relationships and make a positive impact on people's lives and their communities.

"Chris' enthusiastic spirit, dedication to design and commitment to clients have been invaluable in elevating KTGY to a national presence in the industry," said KTGY Chairman of the Board Jill Williams. "As a leader, Chris has been instrumental in creating a culture of shared learning. His approach to mentorship was deeply personal, which has shaped the way the firm approaches education and growth."

A fervent advocate for the profession, Chris lent his voice and leadership to the AIA California Advocacy Advisory Committee, the AIA Orange County Board of Directors and the BIA Code and Energy Committee. Yet some of his most meaningful contributions came as a student critic, where he discovered that learning is a mutual exchange. The passion and fresh perspectives of the emerging architects inspired him as deeply as the knowledge he shared with them.

Under Chris' leadership, mentorship wasn't just encouraged at KTGY. It was embedded in the culture. By championing the individual strengths of his team members and creating a collaborative environment, he paved the way for several team members to rise to shareholder roles, ensuring the long-term success of both the firm and the studio.

Principals Alan Scales and Brad Golba are excited to build on Chris' legacy of partnership, innovation and collaboration in the pursuit of supporting clients and shaping the future.
