Worldwide Internet hotline for illegal content to begin receiving reports in French

For more than 10 years Internet users have been able to report illegal content they stumble upon on the Internet to "no abuse in internet" (naiin). This non-profit non-governmental organization reviews these reports and cooperates with Internet service providers and judicial authorities in taking action against such content. French speaking Internet users can now access the hotline in their native language and submit reports to naiin with just a few clicks. A French version of the naiin website and Internet hotline has been launched to accommodate francophone users.

The organization, which is supported by the Internet community and Internet companies, is reacting to the growing interest in francophone countries to be able to report illegal Internet content quickly and without changing media. “We have been receiving more and more reports from francophone regions for several years. We want to make it easier for French speaking Internet users to use our Internet hotline and to help overcome the language barrier with this new version of the website,” says Dennis Grabowski, chairman of naiin.

Surveys conducted by naiin have shown that 94% of those who provide information do not report content found by chance and suspected to be illegal to judicial authorities. Only 2% report such content to both the naiin hotline and to the police.

The French version of the naiin website and Internet hotline is now available at www.naiin.org/fr/.
