EC-Council and Hong Kong Institute of Technology partnered to create cybersecurity education opportunities and bring awareness about the significance of certified programs.

Technological innovations drive the development of the education industry. The future education industry in Hongkong is expected to witness a rise of opportunities along with growing challenges. Hong Kong is rising from the traditional learning environment to a more global online environment to create, transmit, and apply knowledge in alignment with the natural process of learning. To withstand this complex learning environment, EC-Council’s partnership with the Hong Kong Institute of Technology aims to meet the market demand and ensure industry-oriented education in the form of certified programs in cybersecurity.

In a survey, Hong Kong faces the second-highest risk of cybersecurity attacks in Asia and is narrowly behind India, which shares the first position. The city, which is a hub for international trade and investment, and also one of the world’s thriving economies, is at the urge of the rising requirement for cybersecurity professionals. Interestingly, Hong Kong has also been identified as among the few regions in the world which is willing to invest in IT security workforce.

The government has taken several measures to apprehend Hong Kong as a hub for technology innovation; the Beijing’s “Greater Bay Area” project is one of the initiatives. To furthermore promote the growth of innovation and technology, The Hong Kong government has also assigned an investment of HK $50 billion in the latest budget. The government’s collaboration with national and U.S. technical companies and universities, has encouraged them to establish themselves in Hong Kong in order to strengthen the city’s IT infrastructure. This led to the growth of technology startups by 23.6% and 41% increase in employment.
