 Know what you want to diffuse in your campaign.
If your team is clear about what do you want to communicate, it would be easier to write the intention that you want for your campaign and how do you think the people would respond. Doing this step first will help you to focus the team and lead each one of them to the same direction.
 Prepare a database list.
A crucial step because is important to be sure that every contact would receive the proper information.
 Plan your content
It is very important to know what material you want to put with your mail-out and to be able to justify why each item is being involved. Therefore, unless there is a purpose or strategic reason behind, including the information that can justify the cost, then it’s probably best to leave it out. Some of these items can include complementary material like brochures or newsletters, or response devices like a request for donations, a membership form or a survey. These items need to be ready to go before you send out the direct mail.
 Prepare the design of the mail and think about an effective distribution plan
The final step is to review your content, check grammar, spelling and the intention of the mail. Then come up with an attractive and professional design for the mail, in order to get more engagement with the costumers. Also, it is very important to check the list of the contacts and the address of the destinations of the mails that will be send.
