International address validation now a lot simpler

International address validation now a lot simpler

Worcester, UK – 26 May 2011 – Postcode Anywhere is simplifying its licensing for international address look-up today, in a move which halves the cost of looking up and auto-completing international addresses. The company aims to “bring truly international trade one step closer.”

The changes, in place from this week, will affect address validation from territories across Europe, Australasia and the Far East, bringing all costs in line with Postcode Anywhere’s services for the UK, United States and Canada. Previously, address auto-completion from more far-flung destinations, such as Andorra and Mexico, used up two credits per validation. Now, look-ups from any supported country will consume only one.

Postcode Anywhere’s sales and marketing director Phil Rothwell said: “As the leading provider of this service, we’re seeing increasing interest for international addressing. Bearing in mind the value of the pound, this may have something to do with greater focus from international buyers on UK ecommerce sites, or by more UK ecommerce businesses looking to expand outside of the domestic market.

“With this in mind, all Postcode Anywhere customers will now be able to look up addresses from across the globe at the same rate as US, Canadian and UK address look-ups, significantly cutting the cost of international address management. We’re hoping this move will not only make our worldwide service simpler to use, but will bring truly international trade one step closer. We believe in making things simple, which is why the service is now available at one fixed rate, with one catch-all licence covering data from territories across the world.

Wall Street success story

Dow Jones, publishers of the Wall Street Journal, has been using Postcode Anywhere’s international address validation software in their subscriptions ordering system for the last two years. Bill Doane, Advertising Projects Manager, said: “We needed to capture accurate address data for the effective deployment of our customer hub (Salesforce CRM) for print-based and online subscription billing information.

“With offices in Asia, Europe, North and South America, our requirement was for an address validation solution with the ability to populate addresses over a wide range of international territories and therefore a variety of formats. The time wasted before Postcode Anywhere’s solution was fairly significant.”

Rothwell concluded: “For the back-office, address validation is a vital tool that saves time and ensures data accuracy. Any company with an international presence stands to benefit hugely from this kind of service.”
