Chancellor Merkel visits Quorion at the 2007 CeBIT

Quorion Data Systems, a German POS systems manufacturer, yet again participated in the CeBIT Fair in Hanover, Germany.

During the busy preparation period prior to the big event, the Quorion team received a call from the Chancellor’s office, which announced that Chancellor Merkel intended to visit the booth on Thursday, March 15th. This exciting news made for quite an exciting start to the 2007 CeBIT – Quorion had the honor of welcoming the German Chancellor.

Beside the numerous multi-national corporations, which received her attention, the Chancellor praised small and medium sized businesses for creating the majority of new jobs in the growing German economy.

Several key political figures accompanied the Chancellor on her CeBIT tour.

President Frank Grueschow welcomed the Chancellor and briefly introduced the company to the national press. Thereafter, Chancellor Merkel and Mr. Grueschow discussed the company’s excellent export track record, the reasons for coming to Germany as well as the role of small and medium sized businesses in the German economy.

Everyone enjoyed the relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, brought about through Chancellor Merkel’s open and cordial manner. Moreover, she showed a keen interest in Quorion’s innovative POS systems.

In light of the 2007 CeBIT the company has every reason to remain positive. After the extraordinary start to the fair, Quorion generated interest from new clients throughout the world. Most notable were prospects visiting from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and Turkey. The task at hand now consists of consolidating the new CeBIT contacts and to continue to produce innovative products. Quorion’s primary focus will remain on nurturing long term relationships to guarantee economic growth.
