Profile Migrator 2.2 builds the bridge into the cloud
Beyond the ability to migrate to Windows7, which was already available in the predecessor versions, the new "cloud mode" of Profile Migrator represents a powerful solution for the transformation of user settings and data from client systems to terminal server and VDI environments. The transfer of the user profiles within a network is of interest to many enterprises that want to centralize the user data away from the end user device into the data center. The option to modify or reassign domains is a requirement that is relevant in the merger of companies, among other scenarios. For cloud service providers, on the other hand, the migration of user profiles and data between two networks takes central stage. This is also available in Profile Migrator from version 2.2 onwards.
The sepago software migrates user profiles for arbitrary windows-based applications from the operating systems Microsoft Server 2003 and Microsoft Windows XP onwards on clients and servers. The program can be executed via the intuitive GUI or automated in script mode, which permits integration into software deployment suites such as Microsoft SCCM. Common applications, such as, e.g., Microsoft Office, can be migrated immediately with the ACS files provided by sepago. In this context, Profile Migrator supports the upgrade from Office XP to the newest Office version 2010; the switch of operating system or platform from 32 to 64 bits can be carried out simultaneously.
