Al Green is arguably the greatest soul singer ever, and certainly one of the most popular, influential and enduring. Despite not having any hit albums in the UK, some of his singles are amongst the best known and loved. The title track of ‘Let’s Stay Together’ was a worldwide hit in 1972, number 1 in the USA and a top 10 in the UK. Almost as well-known despite never being issued as a single is another all-time classic ‘How Can You Mend A Broken Heart’
