Ahead of the event, Anna Cummins said:
“With over 120 women accessing our domestic abuse services we fully understand the devastating and long-term impact of coercive control. We know that abuse starts with perpetrators isolating women from their families and support networks, exploiting them, depriving them of independence and regulating their everyday behaviour. This conference is an opportunity for delegates from the public sector, community organisations, charities and local women to better understand what coercive control is, the tactics used by perpetrators, and the impact to victims. This understanding is vital if we are to provide the right support and services to victims."
