Visual communication as 'eye-catcher' and can we rescue the English tradition in type and letters from Italy?
Imagine iT is also delighted to welcome Anette Lenz (D/F), the Paris-based German designer and AGI member with an international reputation. In addition, James Mosley (UK), emeritus professor at the University of Reading and respected typographic historian with a worldwide standing will deliver a lecture on the English vernacular and asks how can we rescue the English tradition of type and letters?
Please note that there will be consecutive translations from Italian into English throughout the event. For most of the presenters English is not their first language and therefore technical terms will be kept to the minimum. All the speakers are accustom to addressing multi-lingual audiences on an international platform. Therefore a basic knowledge of English is all that is required to enjoy the talks.
Documentation, in both English and Italian, giving event information, details of the speakers, talks and side events will be available at the conference. In addition, bi-lingual documentation giving restaurant recommendations and other general information will also be available.
The complete conference programme showing opening and closing times and talks and workshops schedules is now available on-line.
Registration will open on Wednesday 21 March 2007 from 17.00-19.00 for those who wish to avoid the queues at the registration desk the following morning.
Day tickets are available from €90,00 for students and €180 for professionals. The full conference fee is €320, €160 for students and €250 for members of supporting organisations. Fees include admission to all workshops. (see here)
For registration and information on the current programme, as well as the full pricing scheme for delegates/students, please go to the Typevents website and the Accademia di Belle Arti website.
