Business Cash Advance says light in gloom of poor sales figures

A company that offers advances to small retailers who then repay the money via their credit and debit card receipts says there is much to be cheerful about in the light of very poor retail sales figures announced for December.

Though the retail sales figures announced in January showed a decrease compared year on year, this was to some extent expected because of the snow and very unusually cold weather throughout most of December. There is, however, plenty light amid Winter’s darkest – and coldest – days, says Richard Morley, director of Business Cash Advance, which advances funds to retailers for a variety of purposes.

“While we’ve seen sales fall in the larger retail outlets and shopping malls, the poor weather was quite a boon for small shops and the high street,” commented Morley.

“We are in a very strong position to know what’s going on in the high street as this is where most of our customers are,” he added. “So while the overall retail figures do look poor, they don’t explain the whole picture. We also saw an increase in online sales activity. People may have stayed home due to the dire weather in December - but that didn’t stop them shopping thanks to the internet. For many retailers, it was actually a very buoyant time.”

Founded back in 2003 Plinkfizz has grown from an effervescent marketing consultancy to a place which is just bubbling over with talent to make all your communication needs a reality.
