Pablo de la Peña hands over the cheque of 33.000 Euros to the director of ProPerú Laura Arribas

During last year, 33.000 persons from all around the World have contributed their grain of sand to the ATAUCHI project thanks to El Naturalista, a company aware that you have to help the others.

The Project ATAUCHI marks an outstanding example in which the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is realized. It shows the link between a private company (El Naturalista) and a NGO (ProPerú) and their efforts to impel jointly a project of sustainable development in the Andean countries.

Since 2004 the shoe company El Naturalista has been co-operating with ProPerú: a non governmental organisation for international development co-operation, as a non profit organisation all money donated is used to support the education of children in Perú. Due to the agreement signed by El Naturalista and ProPerú, 1 Euro of every shoe sold from the NASCA Line, inspired by the famous Nasca lines in the south of Peru and named world cultural heritage by the UNESCO, is donated to a particular project.

Until now El Naturalista has already donated a total of 45.000 Euros – this means that 45.000 people have helped the children in Peru, through the ATAUCHI project. The first 12.000 Euros have been used to improve the education or the children in the place of Chalaco (North of Peru). Now El Naturalista is supporting a project for abandoned and disabled children in Arequipa.

The ATAUCHI Project has involved the whole team of El Naturalista, agents, the commercial team, responsible for communication and marketing, press agencies, the design team, fabrication, shops, clients – the solidarity spirit of this initiative has been spread to everyone. All these people have it made possible that the Nasca line is one of the bestsellers. And its human and solidarity component has especially the ones working for El Naturalista made aware of the commitment everyone has, to help.

El Naturalista was founded in 2002 in Spain. Whilst starting the company the General Manager Pablo de la Peña already had a certain concept in mind - he wanted to create a global shoe brand inspired by nature - comfortable and still trendy. The final product that El Naturalista offers is young footwear, comfortable and in accordance with the values of nature as well as with its own brand values. Happiness is for El Naturalista concerning footwear on thing: comfort. El Naturalista is present in 34 countries all over the world and has 4 own shops (Taipei, Berlin, Helsinki and Santa Monica).
