Press release from: Pharmacy OneSource

Application allows for customization of data, criteria and reports

Bellevue, WA – Pharmacy OneSource, Inc., software as a service provider to more than 1,300 hospitals in the United States, announced today that the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago, IL, has adopted VeriForm for their medication storage inspections.

VeriForm is a checklist management system that helps hospitals document and report on compliance and patient safety issues throughout a facility. It provides the ability to create multiple forms and document these inspections in one flexible, easy-to-use application.

"One of the strengths of VeriForm is that it can be adapted for any pharmacy environment. Our pharmacists and technicians use it on a monthly basis to check areas where patient medications are stored," said John McBride, Associate Director of Pharmacy IT at the University of Illinois Medical Center. "The program is extremely easy to use for compliance documentation. The ability to create custom inspection forms and the flexibility it gives is very important for both our inpatient and outpatient operations."

VeriForm has eliminated paper completely from the checklist process and provides a robust reporting tool to complete the process. Managers can run real-time reports to easily see which forms have been completed and monitor trends in compliance by hospital area or criteria. VeriForm has fully-integrated email capabilities so completed forms can be emailed to nurse managers and others for approval, if needed.

"The designated administrator has complete access to the program. He or she can add or delete units, criteria, and personnel settings, as well as run custom reports," said McBride. "This program is working out quite well in our pharmacy. All of our users are very satisfied."
