Mox Telecom AG: Active in new Markets – Expansion Tipped for Success

02-05-2007 06:50 PM CET | Media & Telecommunications

Press release from: Mox Telecom Group

Expansion of the business into Southern Africa
- Substantial monthly turnover in Angola after just a short time
- New presence outside of Europe with representation in South Africa

Ratingen, 5th February 2007 – Mox Telecom AG has continued rapidly with its plans for international expansion. It is successfully increasing its presence worldwide, emphasised by the expansion of its international representative network and successful entry into the African market.

When entering a new market, Mox primarily uses distribution channels with already established trade partners, thus enabling it to avoid the costly and time intensive task of building up its own local distribution networks. This strategy has proved particularly effective for the opening up of the African market. This explains how Mox was able to establish itself so quickly in Angola, South Western Africa. Trading here operates via a wholesaler from Portugal. At this point, Mox has already recorded a very substantial turnover and the market looks extremely promising. Up until now there has been relatively little competition and much higher profit margins can be realised.

Mox sees high growth opportunities in the African market and with this in mind, has extended its local presence with its first own representation in South Africa. Born in South Africa, Mr Roy Marques, took up the position of Sales Manager South Africa on 1st February 2007. Mr Marques is an extremely experienced Sale and Business Development Manager with more than 10 years Sales and Management experience throughout Africa. It will be his responsibility to further establish Mox Telecom as Experts for International Telephony and to consolidate and develop the position already achieved. Mox is convinced that with the acquisition of Mr Marques it is headed in the right direction for expansion into this region.

Mox Telecom are the Experts for International Telephony. The focus is telecommunications services for target groups with a high need for international telephony. Its marketing media encompass, alongside the calling card, a series of additional innovative telecommunications services: In the past year for example, Mox succeeded in entering the lucrative mobile phone market with its own SIM card (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), thereby enabling the increasing number of mobile phone users to also benefit from cheaper international phone calls. The company was founded in 1998 and has been listed on the German stock exchange market (segment Entry Standard) since the 01st December 2006. Today Mox is a leading provider in the market and internationally well position. Outside Germany and many other European countries, Mox operates successfully in the USA, Canada, Australia and, most recently, in Southern Africa.
