Press release from: Halo Monitoring

/ PR Agency: 919 Marketing
November 18, 2010 — Chris Otto, CEO of Halo Monitoring, maker of the most advanced fall detection alarm system, will be interviewed on the popular “Coping with Caregiving” Internet radio program on Saturday, November 20th. Otto will share creative tips to help seniors age in place as well as how a fall detection alarm can bring peace of mind to seniors and their caregivers.

The program features four healthcare professionals and is broadcast live worldwide from 3-4:00 pm Pacific Time, with Otto’s interview at 3:00 pm PT (6:00 pm ET) segment 1. To listen in, simply click on the correct “On Air Listen Live” button at the top of http://www.wsRadio.com/CopingWithCaregiving.

Otto co-founded Halo Monitoring after examining the state of tools available for his own mother, who was providing care for his grandmother. Otto is a pioneer in wireless sensor networks for ambulatory health monitoring, publishing a number of related articles in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He wrote his Master’s thesis on this subject and his work has been recognized as a leading effort in the field of Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) for health monitoring. Otto has nine pending patents in the fields of ambulatory health monitoring, telecommunications and wireless networks

Inspired by his family experience, Otto and co-founders Chirag Patel and Brent Wren gathered a team of engineers and began inventing. The result is the myHalo system; the first wearable medical alarm that sends an automatic alert- no need to push a button-in the event of a fall. While most medical alarms only react to an emergency, myHalo is the first system of its kind to monitor the user’s health and physical activity 24/7. Through the use of a private, secure website, the system provides the ability for designated persons and family to “look-in” on an elderly loved one for peace of mind without invading their personal privacy. For more information about myHalo, visit www.halomonitoring.com.
If you miss the live broadcast, by Tuesday November 23rd, you can listen-on-demand to the archive anytime. For assistance with Internet radio, please see http://www.wsRadio.com/how-to-listen.cfm.

The host of the popular eight-year old program, Jacqueline Marcell, took care of her parents who had Alzheimer, compelling her to dedicate her life to eldercare awareness and reform. She is an international speaker and author of the bestselling book, “Elder Rage”, http://www.ElderRage.com.

If you would like to be considered to guest on the show, you can email Jacqueline at J.Marcell@cox.net for details.
