Elibank Vernon Establishes Institutional Soft Commodity Team

Elibank Vernon, a broker and clearing company that provides a broad Commodity and Currency Trading facility to investors, traders and institutions, wishes to announce today that the firm has established an experienced team of soft commodity brokers to serve institutional clients globally from the firm’s Singapore base. The team includes Toh Chin Loong, Chin Sumiko and Chin Swie Hian, who have just joined Elibank Vernon as Senior Vice President, Institutional Softs Desk.
Lim Beng, Executive Vice President and President of Investments, said: "This team of seasoned veterans will provide Elibank Vernon’s institutional clients with our most comprehensive soft commodity offering to date. We’re thrilled to build on the experience, proven track record and client base of all three of these professionals, who have played key trading and brokerage roles in some of the industry’s most active firms serving this market. Their in-depth knowledge of not only futures and options on futures but the underlying physical market will be invaluable to clients managing their risk in this challenging global environment."
The firm will provide trade execution and clearing services for soft commodity futures and options on futures to institutional clients, including Asian producers, banks, industrial firms and commercial hedgers.
Chin Loong brings more than 25 years of experience across a broad spectrum of soft commodities. Most recently he served as a Senior Trader at a top commodity broker, specializing in coffee options, following senior roles in soft commodities and global agricultural over-the-counter derivatives.
Sumiko and Swie Hian each have more than 20 years of experience as independent floor traders and brokers of soft commodity futures and options. For the past 16 years prior to joining Elibank Vernon, they were both principals of a renowned commodity broker, which was one of the most active floor brokerage groups operating at a major Asian Commodity Exchange.
