JMA Students Get Value Added Learning at World Renowned Birla Science Centre Pilani

India‘s first technological museum, now known as "Birla Science Centre" is one of the best science museums situated in Pilani‘s famous educational complex, envisioned by the doyen of Indian Industry Shri G.D. Birla and dream come true of Shri L.N. Birla who first got the idea of setting up a museum in 1954.

A science centre is exactly as the word describes: a hub of science which aims to enrich the school curriculum and equip learners by providing valuable hands-on learning experiences using world class exhibits that are designed to demystify the world of science & technology by increasing learners’ skill and understanding of science, technology and mathematics.

According to Dr VN Dhaulakhandi a proud alumnus of BITS Pilani and presently Director Birla Science Centre Pilani “a science centre is indeed an educational facility that uses effective methods which rely mainly on the use of interactive displays, events and activities to teach science, technology, mathematics and engineering.”

Popularly known as school with 100% results, Smt. Jamuna Mishra Academy (JMA) established in the year 2004 is presently one of the most sought after schools at Pilani considered as Oasis in the desert state of Rajasthan. On 05 Jan 2019 the team of 40 Class X students of JMA along with Principa l and teachers Mrs Uma Pant and Sri Anil Swamimade a trip to the Birla Science Centre. They visited various galleries which included Innovation Hub, Aerodynamics, Agriculture, Weapons, Art, Human Biology, Chemical Technology, Electronics, Energy Conversion, Metallurgy, Mining, Popular Science, Space Gallery, Transportation and GD Birla Memorial as well as Pilani Gallery.

The Science centre also houses the first car on Indian Roads made by Birlas, the Cadillac car and Dakota DE-3 Aircraft used by Padma Vibhushan GD Birla. The students also visited the Aditya Birla memorial dedicated to Sri Aditya Birla who was the first to show the world the power of what India and Indians can do in the global industrial arena.

The students were excited to see in action many of what they were studying in syllabus. After the visit, the students had fun time in the museum lawns and enjoyed snacks at the famous SkyLab canteen.
